There are a great number of people who we’d like to thank personally. We are especially grateful to Giles and Angela Dixon for providing a base and resources from which the project could be established; Margaret Leendertz, Tony Portch, Dr & Mrs Kingston, Mr & Mrs Smith, and the Villamarin family. For references, advice and guidance we’d like to thank Dr Fred Naggs, Dr. Gwilym Lewis, Sir Ghilean Prance, Dr. Adrian Lister, Prof.Jim Mallet, Dr. Chris Jiggins and Taseer Ahmed.

Special mention must go to Andrew Gill at Equafor for initial support and enabling us to get the project off the ground; and the Hon. Simon Stuart for extremely useful advice and support. It couldn’t have been done without the generosity and support of friends, particularly Alex Buser; Nadia Audhali deserves special thanks for her DJing and moral support. The Global Cafe in Picadilly provided a great venue for a fundraising event. Celtic Canoes in Wales also helped with a fundraising venture.

Shane Winser, Nigel Winser, BSES, Anna McCormack, and others at the Royal Geographical Society, Marianne Dunn and Robin at BP/Birdlife Conservation Programme and David Shreeve at the Conservation Foundation were also extremely helpful and encouraging. In Ecuador we are indebted to Norma Flores and Eduardo, the Hostal Ecologica, the British Embassy in Quito for help with dollarisation educational resources and information and assistance in replacing a stolen passport; FUNBOTANICA. FUNEDESIN, OPIP, Accion Amazonia
and CECIA. We had a huge amount of support, guidance, advice and loan of equipment in Ecuador from Dr Giovanni Onore, Dr Katya Romoleroux, and David Neill and Alina Freire Fierro at the Herbario Nacional.

Further assistance in the UK came from Jo Reading and Robin Lock at the Eden Project, the Cooperative Bank, University College London, Chris Abbott and John Groom from Ridgefellows, Aseity Website Design, the Rainforest Club, the Monkey Sanctuary Trust in Cornwall who inherited several artefacts of the trip; and Sr Luque and Mr Bowen at the Ecuadorian Consulate in London.

There are so many others who helped in small and great ways we hope you don’t feel left out but space and memory constraints are in operation...

So once again on behalf of our team and the 659 people of the Shiwiar Territory
